Why b1t was the Right Choice

Unfortunately for some CSGO teams, there will come a time when they need make a decision between two players over who gets a final roster position. For the players, it could mean the start or end of a career, and the amount of pressure to preform if selected is immeasurable. For teams however, it’s a massive gamble as to who will elevate the rest of the squad to reach new heights. Given Value’s recent RMR rule changes that effectively eliminated substitute players, many teams are stuck with this very issue and have had to make tough decisions for their teams success.

Over the course of CSGO esports history there are only a few huge success stories of teams making the right choice. Magisk with Astralis leading to their era of terror, Stewi2K with Liquid leading to the fastest Intel Grand Slam, and in my opinion b1t and Na’Vi reestablishing themselves as juggernauts of the CIS.

b1t is Na’Vi’s latest addition, replacing flamie on their active roster

The Ukrainian super squad is built in a unique way. When you have the best player in the world, s1mple, playing on your roster you have to be. Aside from Train, the team is usually built on the CT-side to allow the AWPer to have a large amount of liberty to take picks and rotate easily when the big green is in s1’s hands. Because of this, Na’Vi’s IGL Boombl4 has to make a choice whether to spread out his remaining players to cover more of the map or to concentrate them at the most likely point of attack. He chose the later, meaning that someone has to take to undesirable job of soloholding a site and not be part of the potential retake. And what would be a more perfect crap job to give the rookie player so he can prove himself?

Given the hard task of soloholding it’s mighty impressive how well b1t is able to preform. He can AWP pretty well, he clearly knows the line-ups of his site, and he is an incredibly promising rifler. He’s proven himself to be a great roster movie for Na’Vi, with a win at DreamHack Masters Spring and a second place finish at BLAST Spring Finals to show. It’s clear to see that  getting more comfortable with Boombl4’s leadership and his teammates positioning will make him an even greater player for Na’Vi.

Given how well he’s preformed thus far, I think that b1t will go on to be a great roster switch up that will continue to keep Na’Vi playing in top form.
